Let Them Eat Cake
Within the summer of 2022 I was fortunate enough to be part of 'Let them eat cake', an exhibition representing the political value of food, literally and metaphorically.
The space which was given to us was a small van, decorated by an artist for an earlier art piece. with this unconventional exhibition space we needed to really think outside the box when it cane to how people are going to view this narrative.
Displayed on Manchester Metropolitan University's campus and outside The Whitworth Gallery.
sourcing local artists work was a must for us. we wanted to help give small artists a platform.
Private workshops were also held to create art for the exhibition. all age groups were invited and the theme was 'Food for Thought' where we provided paint and plates for the class to paint on.
The most rewarding part of this was with our sparse funding we managed to find money to give back to all who helped us, including venues and artists.
